About University
Originally established in 1974 as Darwin community college and renamed by 1984 as a Darwin Institute of Technology with partnership of College of Advanced Education and a TAFE College. The Northern Territory Legislative Assembly passed the Charles Darwin University ACT 2003 by the year of 2003, combining Alice Springs’ Centralian College and Menzies School of Health Research with the Northern Territory University to form Charles Darwin University in 2004. CDU owned five campuses and three training centers in Australia. All campuses are hub for Higher Education, Training and Research Programs. CDU also offers Vocational Education and Training.
The University offers courses in different areas like accounting, sports, culinary art, social sciences, law, health, education, nursing, Information Technology, tourism, hospitality, food, psychology and many more. CDU enrolled more than 15000 students including 1400 international students. CDU has more than 70000 members as alumni across all over the world. Some Notable people are Sally Thomas (Former Administrator of the Northern Territory), Yingiya Mark Guyula (Australian Politician), Martin Jarvis (Musical artist), Natasha Griggs serves as the Administrator of the Australian Indian Ocean Territories.
