Durham university is a public research university located in Durham , northeast England.

It was created in 1832 by an act of parliament and later incorporated into the Royal charter in 1837. The University of Durham is now a member of the Russell Group of famous British academic universities. For nearly 600 years, durham was the largest college expected to open in England. In 2015 , the Times and Sunday times declared Durham the sports university of the year.

The QS world college ranking ranks it in 2018 as the 78th best college in the world.It is one of UK’s leading universities in Durham. In addition to this , it is ranked 86th in the 20121 QS Global world ranking. The University campus is located between Durham city’s main campus and the nearby Stockton Queen’s campus. There are more than 18000 students enrolled at Durham university, of which 1900 are foreign students from more than 150 countries. Durham university divided into four faculty ,the arts and humanitie, business , social sciences & health , and Sciences.

In total there are 26 different divisions. It is a public university with 16 colleges that provide the student members with residential , social and welfare services, providing a sense of community for employees and students. Academic departments manage teaching and most studies and 30% of the university’s 3000 employees are foreign.
